OUR MISSION
The Palmyra Improvement Association is a non-profit, volunteer organization dedicated to cultivating a sense of community through town wide events. The revenues from these events are to be used to beautify our business district, install historic property markers, and fund grants to beautify Palmyra’s historic housing stock.
HISTORY
The Palmyra Improvement Association was created in 2017 by Palmyra native John Casparro. Looking to clean up the flower beds in the business district, he set aside time to host a meeting to see who else wanted to help. The first meeting attracted large numbers of residents and volunteers looking for something more. The communication among the attendees cultivated ideas for downtown events, fundraisers, grants, etc. Every member wanted to see the business district and in-turn, Palmyra, thrive. Thus, the PIA was created, and the goal of becoming the next go-to for people looking for a new home, maybe open their new restaurant, business, etc. is the drive that keeps us going.
